Some of the results obtained from this study were not far from my expectations while other were not what I expected. The results that I find questionable were from aluminum and iron. I was not expected the aluminum concentration in the soil in this area to be as high as it is. I also expected the iron concentration to be much higher than the result that I got.

The results from the pH, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were within  my expectation. A pH of 6.2 in this area was what I expected. The clayey/silt texture of the soil was expected because of the location of the island and also because the island is sometimes flooded when the Susquehanna River overflow its bank.

This study was challenging and very informative. I have learned a lot about the soil on New Island, the procedure to do the soil analyses, from sampling to posting results. I have also learned about the internet and how to get information on the world wide web. During the project, I have met and worked with some very intelligent people. Their guidance and input help to make this project a success. I appreciate the help.
