Sulfur (Sulfate)

Sulfur is found in the organic matter, other sources include gypsum, the amount and type of rainfall. Sulfur is used in the formation of plant protein, it is also found in several enzymes and vitamins used in plant metabolism and are important in the formation of chlorophyll.

 

Procedure for test

  1. Transfer 5 drops of soil extract into a Glass Turbidity Vial.
  2. Add one drop of Sulfate Test Solution and swirl gently to mix.
  3. Hold the vial about one inch above the black strip in the middle of the chart.
  4. Match milky turbidity against standards on the Sulfate Chart.
