Location: Transect 2
This is the first transect that was taken on the west side of the Island. We measured from the Susquehanna River's edge to the Island's northern boundary marked by Interstate 88. This transect ran perpendicular to the river. Using a GPS, we took the coordinates at the river and placed a 100 foot measuring tape directly north. Then we took the coordinates again at the 100 foot mark.
The red line on the photo below represents roughly where this transect was taken.
