Vegetation in transect 4
This is the third transect that was taken around the middle of the Island. In this area we identified trees that were within the belt transect. This area has a series of different grasses, shrubs, and trees. The vegetation here is less dense than transects 2-3. There is a diverse dominant understory, made up of smaller saplings and shrubs. The trees that were within transect 3 are Northern Red Oak, Silver Maple, Thornapple, Quaking Aspen, Paper Birch, Black Cherry, Grey Birch, White Spuce and Ironwood.
Conclusion:
The Black Cherry tree is the most dominant species in this area.
