2008-Summer Soccer Camp Series
FOR BOYS & GIRLS AGES 7-17

The Headwaters Soccer Club, a non-profit organization, was formed to benefit and develop our area’s youth by offering numerous soccer camps, clinics, and indoor/outdoor tournaments. The Board of Trustees consists of area coaches, former coaches and athletic directors, all with extensive experience and backgrounds in soccer. David Ranieri, Director, in addition to his long and distinguished career as a player, has accumulated a wealth of experience as a creator of marketing and administrator of soccer programs for over twenty-five years.

Since the inception of the Club in June 1990, the Club has instituted soccer camps at Worcester Central School, Otego Elementary School, Edmeston Central School, Oneonta State, and three at Mine Kill State Park to bring the total camp series to seven. The Club co-sponsors the annual Mine Kill State Park High School Tournament and the PowerAde Indoor Soccer and Swim Festival at Oneonta State. The Club also holds youth clinics and a charity golf tournament to raise funds for camp scholarships.

In the long run, the Club’s success can only be measured by the programs we are able to offer to the children of this area. The extent of these programs is dependent to a large degree on not only the contributions of the sponsors, service organizations and foundations mentioned in this brochure, but from people like yourself.

So many times our children are short changed by the lack of money for the kinds of educational programs available to their peers in larger school districts. Because of these absent opportunities, some of our children may be being denied the fulfillment of dreams which they cannot yet even foresee. These missed opportunities apply to areas of athletics as well. Most of the communities in the four-county area do not have strong recreation programs, ones geared toward providing year-round opportunities in the area of soccer to children of the four counties. Yes, with time, our children may be able to ascend the podium of national or international recognition. Importantly, each of them will have an opportunity equal to anywhere else in the country in at least one small area.
