Eligibility

A HEP applicant must:

Be a migrant or seasonal farm worker or a child of a migrant or seasonal farm worker who:

a) Is eligible to participate in a Title 1 Migrant Education Program

OR

b) Whose primary employment was in farm work on a permanent, temporary or seasonal basis for at least 75 days within the last 24 months and

AND

  • Has the desire to attend HEP Oneonta and obtain a GED
  • Is at least 17 years of age or older and have been out of school for at least a year or his/her graduation class must have graduated.
  • Has the academic ability to complete the program.

All participants will take the TABE which will measure a basic academic ability. Due to the intensity of the program, participants should score at the 8.5 grade level or higher on the English version or 12.9 on the Spanish version.
