Concertante

Following the October 30, 2009, performance of the Koresh dance group the Oneonta Concert Association is entering its winter performance lacuna. However, this does not mean that the OCA board is taking a long winter's nap. In fact, we are planning for the 2010-2011 concert year. With that in mind, we welcome suggestions from the Oneonta community -- and especially subscribers -- for possible performers. Send your ideas to Oneonta_concert_association@yahoo.com with "Attention OCA Artist Selection Committee" in the subject line. To have your suggestion get full consideration you should submit it by November 30, 2009.

Our next concert features Concertante. Details can be found here.

See you in the Spring!

Notice

The Irish Chamber Orchestra, a classical string orchestra, has cancelled the tour which would have brought it to our concert series in Oneonta on Friday, November 13, 2009. They have indicated that they had to cancel the tour owing to the withdrawal of two concert presenters (OCA was not one of them). We have the good fortune of being able to engage Concertante, a group of eight string players, in lieu of the Irish Chamber Orchestra. The Artist Selection Committee of the OCA has given very serious consideration to presenting this superb group several times over the past few years and we are very pleased to be able to present them this concert season. Concertante will present the Mendelssohn Octet as part of its program. Additional program details will be forthcoming. Concertante will be here on Friday, March 26, 2010, 8PM, at the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta.

OCA Outreach

If an adult brings an organized student group of at least 5 students to a concert, the adult is admitted gratis.
