She was a founding member of Cherish the Ladies and a musical star of Riverdance. In 1999 Eileen established a touring production company to present the music that now encompasses Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul. The ensemble performs at major performing arts centers and festivals worldwide, as well as being featured with numerous symphonies and on national and international television. Eileen created Beyond the Bog Road, a multimedia concert of music, story, dance and film. The concert celebrates the journey of the Irish immigrant and showcases how Irish music and dance have integrated with various roots music of North America. The Beyond the Bog Road CD will be released in 2010. Ivers' recording credits include over 80 contemporary and traditional albums and numerous movie scores.</p><br><br> <p><u>Greg Anderson</u> (guitar, backing vocals) <br> Multi-instrumentalist and producer Greg Anderson hails from the musical melting pot of New York City. Greg has performed and recorded with a wide variety of international artists in an even wider variety of musical genres.</p><br><br> <p><u>Leo Traversa</u> (bass guitar)<br> Bassist Leo Traversa is a native New Yorker and has been at the forefront of the world music scene there for many years. A founding and current faculty member of the Bass Collective in New York City, he has taught at the Collective since1987. His extensive knowledge of a variety of musical genres and cultures and his mastery of their playing techniques makes him one of the most versatile and proficient bassists on the scene today. <p><u>Tommy McDonnell</u> (vocalist, percussion)<br> Bronx, New York, native Tommy Mc Donnell is an inspired vocalist who has been performing professionally since the age of 15. The son of a carpenter and professional actress/singer/dancer, Tommy brings a deeply soulful aspect to the multidimensional thrust of the Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul. Tommy played drums until 1988, when he decided to embark on a singing career. <p><u>Buddy Connolly</u> (accordion, whistles, keyboards)<br> Three time All-Ireland accordion champion Buddy Connolly hails from Newark, New Jersey. As a free-lance musician, Buddy has toured all over the USA with many bands. In 1995, he moved to Nashville and was introduced to bluegrass, Cajun and country music. Most of ADCA's members are also top-rate soloists in their own right and have performed on nearly every continent of the globe, including at the most prestigious venues of the world's major artistic centers. With two member composers and a deep commitment to commissioning new work, the group is enriching the traditional wind quintet repertoire while meaningfully bridging European, American, African and Latin American traditions. </p><br> <p> &nbsp; &nbsp; The group is in the midst of its Legacy Commissioning Project, an ambitious endeavor launching Imani Winds into its second decade of music making. The ensemble is commissioning, premiering and touring ten new works for woodwind quintet written by established and emerging composers of diverse musical backgrounds. The select composers originate from different points of the globe bringing a wide range of sounds and experiences.The group released its fifth album on E1 Music, named Terra Incognita after Wayne Shorter's piece written for the group. It is a celebration of the Legacy project with new works written for Imani Winds by Mr. Shorter, Jason Moran, and Paquito D'Rivera. A conductorless chamber ensemble, SONYC members rehearse in a collaborative effort that allows each musician to have an impact on the artistic process. The flexibility and intimacy of a string quartet are thus fused with the power and scope of an orchestra. A herald of new music from around the world, SONYC has given 17 World and US premieres.<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; SONYC is composed of a group of dedicated chamber musicians and soloists who are members of outstanding chamber groups as well as winners of international competitions. Having given over 100 performances and over 70 educational outreach performances for children of all ages and backgrounds in NYC's public schools, SONYC is a pioneer in the concert hall, as well as in the classroom, community center, church, and museum.<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp; Winners of the 2006 Meet the Composers Residency Grant, SONYC gave performances and outreach projects throughout New York City.
