May 5th 1862
I have just sent by Express $15 - fifteen dollars it is in a package with
the rest of the boys Mony There is one hundred and Seventy dollars in the
package and all directed to Daniel Harrington I hope you will get it all
safe and sound Has Lieut Chace got home yet he left the regiment nearly two
weeks ago Some of the boys think that he did not like the whistle of a
bullet any too well he said he was sick and I guess he was. Pleas write as
often as you can. You must not expect to hear from me verry often now
