Near Fredericksburg Jany 3rd 1863
Dear Mother
I got your letter of the 25th last night. It did me good. Would like a few
more as soon as possible. You said in it that you were going to give five
dollars for a blanket. Dont you do any such thing. If Mrs Maynard has not
sent it yet write and tell her not to do it for I do not want any more
blankets. Have got more than I can carry now, had to leave two in my tent
the other day when I went out on the reconnaissance and then I had two with
me. We had a lot come to us the other day that were left at Fortress Monroe
last spring so we are all well supplied if you can stop her from sending
that do so by all means. I hope you will put up the box right away and dont
ferget the mince pies. I think now that we shall not move right away.
Your Aff Son CJ Hardaway
