Near Fredericksburg Jany 19th 1863

Dear Mother  received your letter of the 13th last night. I had had one from Gust and one from Harrington during the week so I am pretty well Satasfied. We have been under marching orders since Thursday noon. It seems as tho they wanted to let the rebels know that we are going to move for they keep putting it off from day to day. The orders are now to go tomorrow at 10 Oclock. There will probably be a big battle where we do move, and I feel as tho there was something going to happen to me. If such is the case and I do not turn up again I want Sommers to have what few earthly goods that belong to me. I can not tell what makes me feel so and I hope I shall be mistaken. I think we shall get a pretty good licking if we do not it will be strange. I do not feel like writing and cant write any more to night.

Your Aff Son CJ Hardaway
